新年快乐! after an hour of technical support with mom, my grandparents were finally able to log on to skype using their recently acquired laptop. it’s chinese new year’s eve in china right now, and today was the first time in many years that i was able to wish them a happy new year (almost) in person. despite being in different time zones on opposite sides of the world, seeing them through the webcam made it feel like they were sitting no further from me than the distance that separated our laptop screens.times like this i feel so very grateful for the wonders of technology.
